Introduction | Methyl 2-amino-3-methylbenzoate is an organic intermediate, which can be obtained by reducing nitro from methyl 3-methyl-2-nitrobenzoate as raw material or by reacting with methyl iodide. |
preparation | methyl 3-methyl -2-nitrobenzoate (98.5g,505mmol), 5% Pd/C(Degussa CE105XRC/W,1.0g) and acetonitrile (300mL) are mixed in a 600-mL high pressure vessel. The mixture was heated to 70°C and hydrogenated at 65psi(450kPa) for 8h. Add another 5% Pd/C(1.0g) and continue hydrogenation at 100psi(690kPa) for 8.5h. After , cool the reaction mixture, purify with nitrogen, filter through Celite diatom filter aid, and wash with acetonitrile (3 × 25mL). The combined filtrate was partially evaporated to a weight of ~ 160g, and then diluted with acetonitrile to a total weight of 200g. |
